Yipee! We're Done!

The presents were wrapped. There was no tree. There was only one strand of lights across the front of the house and one on the mailbox. The girls did get ambitious enough to hang out the seven hand made stockings, but aside from that, if you blinked, you might have missed Christmas around here. We spent the past four days at the House of Mouse and there was a great deal of decorations there, so we met our quota by default.
Anyway, tomorrow, once we get the cars loaded and get past the normal fussing that goes along with any trip that we make further than the nearest Publix, the real fun/vacation begins. We are off to the "beach house" for nine days of rest and relaxation. I can't wait!! Aside from one annoying science project that the seventh grader is working on, it will be a "do-nothing" sort of period that I really need. We are scheduled to work out with our "personal trainer" every other day at the gym and we are doing another 5K on Saturday, but I can deal with that. There will be a nice grown-up New Year's Eve dinner at a real restaurant while mom-in-law stays with the kids, as well. Not a bad deal. I probably won't ever want to come back.
So, if I don't see you again for a while, Happy 2009!
