The holidays are over and we are back in the everyday routine. I know the kids were sorry to see it end, but I was almost happy when that alarm clock rang this morning. I love my gang, I really do, but 10 people in three bedrooms for 9 days was a little much. I was relieved to get back to my messy ol' house where everyone could spread out into their own space, plus hubby, mom-in-law stayed behind since #1 son doesn't go back to school until Monday and hubby isn't needed anywhere until Thursday. Then my sister offered to keep the two youngest boys at her house last night so we could have a smoother Monday morning. God bless her! The 7 year-old daughter swore last night that she had her clothes and shoes all ready last night then this morning the shoes had mysteriously disappeared. Turned out she had lied. Ooh, big surprise. Luckily, her eagle-eyed brother found them.
I started the day with ambition and energy. I quickly got over it. Tomorrow is another day. Today I am content to unpack, do some laundry and not sweat the small stuff.
