Prelude to Summer

I absolutely love days like this. It's Saturday, which is almost always a good thing. The day started off a little hectic. Hubby and sons 1 & 2 left on a four day "guy trip" this morning, so there was a rush getting everybody out the door. After that though, the pace slowed considerably. I got a little more sleep, then we ambled off to Bob Evans for a leisurely noon time breakfast. We spent a couple of hours winding through Home Depot and bought some more sod for my front yard.
I left three of the kids (daughters 2 & 3 and son #3) at my sister's house this afternoon and it was such a relief. I almost feel guilty about this, but the fact is that since I have had at least one sick child for nearly two weeks, I am gleeful that they all are feeling better and actually want to be away from me instead of of clinging. Daughter #1, the baby and I had a nice dinner in a real restaurant and then went shopping at Jo Ann's and came home and vegged-out.
It just feels so good to be a little less stressed and more relaxed. It won't really be summer vacation until Wednesday afternoon, but I have gotten a taste of it today.
