One of Those Precious Moments

We have been holed up in our beach hideaway since Thursday night. Number one son was here until Saturday night and it has been pretty close to perfect. Hubby and I took #3 daughter out for a very nice dinner in honor of her eighth birthday on Saturday and she was treated like a princess and ate it up (literally and figuratively). We have hit the beach and (heated!) pool every afternoon and hubby and I have hit the gym every morning.Last night, hubby and I had a date night. It was really nice, cruising up the boulevard with the top down on hubby's little convertible and listening to some smooth jazz. It's good to feel like a grown-up without having to be mom, once in a while.
Today it was kind of overcast when we made it out to the beach and finally the clouds closed in and the rain came. It is just such a warm feeling having all my family together (even #1 is here in spirit and only 6 miles away.) Number one daughter has been with her grandmother since Thursday and got back today. Her normally feuding sibs were so happy to see her. I am going to hate breaking the spell and returning to real life on Thursday when it is time to go home.
